Toho Challenge 2025

Da Toho meinen Beitrag zur Toho Challenge 2025 inzwischen auf Facebook und Instagram gezeigt hat, kann ich euch jetzt auch hier die Bilder von meinem diesjährigen Werk zeigen. Es ist komplett in Embroidery Technik entstanden mit einem extra passend selbstgemachten Epoxid Harz Cabochon in der Mitte.

Because Toho already shared my contribution to the Toho Challenge 2025 on Facebook and Instagram, I can also show you the pictures of my this year's work here on my blog. It was created entirely using the embroidery technique, with a matching homemade epoxy resin cabochon in the center.

Kleine Windmühlen / Little windmills

Letztes Jahr im Oktober war ich wieder mit meiner lieben Perlenfreundin Mirjam auf einem tollen Perlenwochenende mit ca, 25 Perlenbegeisterten.
Ich hatte Mirjam ein paar meiner Resin - Cabochons mitgebracht und daraus ist wieder ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt entstanden was ich euch jetzt endlich mal zeigen möchte.
Die Steine sind in RAW und Peyote eingefasst, was bei der Dicke der Steine gar nicht so einfach war. Die kleinen Windmühlen sind mit 8 mm Chatons, Superduos und Rocailles in verschiedenen Größen gefädelt und die Basis wiederum ist in Netztechnik.
Das hat wieder richtig viel Spaß gemacht und ich freue mich schon auf das kommende Perlentreffen im Oktober!

Last October, I went to a wonderful beading weekend with my dear beading friend Mirjam, who was joined by about 25 other bead enthusiasts.
I gave Mirjam some of my resin cabochons, and this resulted in another collaborative project, which I'd like to finally show you.
The stones are set in raw and peyote, which wasn't easy because of the thickness of the stones. The little windmills are made with 8 mm chatons, Superduos, and seed beads in various sizes, and the base is made with in netting technique.
It was a lot of fun again, and I'm already looking forward to the upcoming beading weekend in October!

Mehr Steine aus Epoxid Harz / Resin

Da man so tolle Steine aus Epoxid Harz gießen und für's Perlenhobby verwenden kann, habe ich noch ein paar mehr Cabochons hergestellt.
Einige der Steine aus diesem Post und noch ein paar andere habe ich bereits mit Perlen eingefasst und werde sie euch in weiteren Posts noch zeigen.
Und für diese kleinen Schönheiten fällt mir bestimmt auch noch was tolles ein.

Since you can cast such beautiful stones from epoxy resin and use them for your beading hobby, I made a few more cabochons.
I've already set some of the stones from this post and a few others with beads and will show them to you in future posts.
And I'm sure I'll come up with something great for these little beauties.

Gloriana

Ich freue mich sehr, dass meine Anleitung Gloriana in der neuesten Bead & Jewellery (Nr. 136) erschienen ist und ich sie euch jetzt zeigen kann.

Die Kette besteht aus kleinen Elementen mit 8mm Chatons und 3mm Bicones, welche sie unglaublich zum glitzern bringen (vor allem wenn man so schöne Bicones wie die DeLara von Beadpoint in 2AB Farben verwendet wie in der violet-caribbean-sea Version weiter unten).

Die Zeitschrift könnt ihr als Abo oder auch als Einzelausgabe hier digital oder in gedruckter Form kaufen.

I'm so happy that my Gloriana pattern has been published in the latest issue of Bead & Jewellery (No. 136) and I can show it to you now.

The necklace is made of small elements with 8mm chatons and 3mm bicones, which make it sparkle incredibly (especially when you use beautiful bicones like the DeLara from Beadpoint in 2AB colors, as in the violet-caribbean-sea version further down).

You can purchase the magazine here as a subscription or as a single issue, either digitally or in print.

12. Blog Geburtstag / 12. blog birthday

Und schon ist wieder ein Jahr vergangen... kam es euch auch so kurz vor?
Heute feiern wir schon unseren 12. Blog-Geburtstag - kaum zu fassen wie lange es unseren Blog schon gibt. Leider ist es in der Blogger-Gemeinde mittlerweile ziemlich ruhig geworden, viele Blogs gibt es schon nicht mehr oder es erscheint kein neuer Content.
Dafür hat sich das Ganze immer mehr zu Facebook und Instagram verlagert wo man viele Gleichgesinnte trifft.
Nichtsdestotrotz möchten wir unsere Tradition fortführen und euch an dieser Stelle eine kostenlose Anleitung zur Verfügung stellen. Da ich im Moment viel mit der Toho-Challenge beschäftigt bin und ja auch die Creativa begonnen hat (werdet ihr auch hingehen?), gibt es dieses Jahr ein etwas älteres Design, aber ich hoffe es gefällt euch genauso gut wie mir.
Wer mag kann sich hier die Anleitung zum "Royal Wedding" Armband herunterladen und gerne auch einen Kommentar dalassen!

And another year has passed... did it seem so short to you too?
Today we're celebrating our 12th blog birthday - it's hard to believe how long our blog has been around. Unfortunately, things have become quite quiet in the blogging community these days; many blogs no longer exist or no new content is published.
Instead, the focus has shifted more and more to Facebook and Instagram, where you can meet many like-minded people.
Nevertheless, we would like to continue our tradition and provide you with a free pattern here. Since I'm currently very busy with the Toho Challenge and Creativa has also started (will you be going too?), there's a slightly older design this year, but I hope you like it as much as I do.

Kingdom of Hearts - Versuch 2 und 3 / second and third try

Nachdem ich mit meinem ersten Versuch nicht so ganz zufrieden war, da der mittlere Rivoli nicht so gut saß, habe ich die Herzen jeweils eine CRAW-Einheit größer gemacht und den Rivoli nicht drauf sondern rein gefädelt. Mit Picots war es etwas gequetscht und ohne sah es auch nicht viel besser aus. Außerdem fehlte hier die Kompaktheit des ersten Anhängers...
Und ich habe ein bisschen bei den Seitensträngen variiert. Beim ersten vom letzten Post habe ich in Chenille gefädelt, der grau-pinke hat gedrehte Herringbone Seitenstränge und der silber-violette welchee in CRAW. Was ist euer Favorit?

After I wasn't entirely happy with my first attempt because the middle rivoli didn't fit so well, I made the hearts one CRAW unit bigger and positioned the rivoli inside the heart rather than on top. With picots it was a bit squashed and it also didn't look much better without them. It also lacked the compactness of the first pendant...
And I varied the side strands. In the first one from the last post I used chenille, the grey-pink one has twisted herringbone side strands and the silver-violet one has CRAW. So what's your favourite?

Kingdom of Hearts

Passend zum heutigen Valentinstag möchte ich euch mein neuestes Design "Kingdom of Hearts" zeigen.
Erst die Bemerkung meiner lieben Perlenfreundin Andrea "setz die Herzen doch ineinander" brachte mir die zündende Idee für dieses Design - vielen Dank dafür meine Liebe!
Da ich mit der Anbringung des kleinen Rivolis in der Mitte nicht ganz zufrieden war, habe ich eine ganze Reihe von kleinen Änderungen bei meinen weiteren Versuchen ausprobiert bis ich mit dem letzten ganz zufrieden war. Leider musste ich auch alle ein bisschen anders zusammennähen, so dass ich leider keine gute Anleitung dazu schreiben konnte... aber die weiteren Versuche zeige ich euch dann in den nächsten Posts.

In keeping with Valentine's Day today, I would like to show you my latest design, "Kingdom of Hearts".
It was only when my dear beading friend Andrea said, "put the hearts inside each other," that I got the brilliant idea for this design - thank you so much, my dear!
As I wasn't entirely happy with the way the little rivoli was attached in the middle, I tried out a whole series of small changes in my further attempts until I was completely happy with the last one. Unfortunately, I also had to attach them all a little differently, so I couldn't write any good pattern for it... but I'll show you the other attempts in the next posts.
