12. Blog Geburtstag / 12. blog birthday

Und schon ist wieder ein Jahr vergangen... kam es euch auch so kurz vor?
Heute feiern wir schon unseren 12. Blog-Geburtstag - kaum zu fassen wie lange es unseren Blog schon gibt. Leider ist es in der Blogger-Gemeinde mittlerweile ziemlich ruhig geworden, viele Blogs gibt es schon nicht mehr oder es erscheint kein neuer Content.
Dafür hat sich das Ganze immer mehr zu Facebook und Instagram verlagert wo man viele Gleichgesinnte trifft.
Nichtsdestotrotz möchten wir unsere Tradition fortführen und euch an dieser Stelle eine kostenlose Anleitung zur Verfügung stellen. Da ich im Moment viel mit der Toho-Challenge beschäftigt bin und ja auch die Creativa begonnen hat (werdet ihr auch hingehen?), gibt es dieses Jahr ein etwas älteres Design, aber ich hoffe es gefällt euch genauso gut wie mir.

And another year has passed... did it seem so short to you too?
Today we're celebrating our 12th blog birthday - it's hard to believe how long our blog has been around. Unfortunately, things have become quite quiet in the blogging community these days; many blogs no longer exist or no new content is published.
Instead, the focus has shifted more and more to Facebook and Instagram, where you can meet many like-minded people.
Nevertheless, we would like to continue our tradition and provide you with a free pattern here. Since I'm currently very busy with the Toho Challenge and Creativa has also started (will you be going too?), there's a slightly older design this year, but I hope you like it as much as I do.

Kingdom of Hearts - Versuch 2 und 3 / second and third try

Nachdem ich mit meinem ersten Versuch nicht so ganz zufrieden war, da der mittlere Rivoli nicht so gut saß, habe ich die Herzen jeweils eine CRAW-Einheit größer gemacht und den Rivoli nicht drauf sondern rein gefädelt. Mit Picots war es etwas gequetscht und ohne sah es auch nicht viel besser aus. Außerdem fehlte hier die Kompaktheit des ersten Anhängers...
Und ich habe ein bisschen bei den Seitensträngen variiert. Beim ersten vom letzten Post habe ich in Chenille gefädelt, der grau-pinke hat gedrehte Herringbone Seitenstränge und der silber-violette welchee in CRAW. Was ist euer Favorit?

After I wasn't entirely happy with my first attempt because the middle rivoli didn't fit so well, I made the hearts one CRAW unit bigger and positioned the rivoli inside the heart rather than on top. With picots it was a bit squashed and it also didn't look much better without them. It also lacked the compactness of the first pendant...
And I varied the side strands. In the first one from the last post I used chenille, the grey-pink one has twisted herringbone side strands and the silver-violet one has CRAW. So what's your favourite?

Kingdom of Hearts

Passend zum heutigen Valentinstag möchte ich euch mein neuestes Design "Kingdom of Hearts" zeigen.
Erst die Bemerkung meiner lieben Perlenfreundin Andrea "setz die Herzen doch ineinander" brachte mir die zündende Idee für dieses Design - vielen Dank dafür meine Liebe!
Da ich mit der Anbringung des kleinen Rivolis in der Mitte nicht ganz zufrieden war, habe ich eine ganze Reihe von kleinen Änderungen bei meinen weiteren Versuchen ausprobiert bis ich mit dem letzten ganz zufrieden war. Leider musste ich auch alle ein bisschen anders zusammennähen, so dass ich leider keine gute Anleitung dazu schreiben konnte... aber die weiteren Versuche zeige ich euch dann in den nächsten Posts.

In keeping with Valentine's Day today, I would like to show you my latest design, "Kingdom of Hearts".
It was only when my dear beading friend Andrea said, "put the hearts inside each other," that I got the brilliant idea for this design - thank you so much, my dear!
As I wasn't entirely happy with the way the little rivoli was attached in the middle, I tried out a whole series of small changes in my further attempts until I was completely happy with the last one. Unfortunately, I also had to attach them all a little differently, so I couldn't write any good pattern for it... but I'll show you the other attempts in the next posts.

Toho Challenge 2025 featured Designer

Ich habe dieses Jahr die große Ehre von Toho als featured Designerin ausgewählt worden zu sein und am Wochenende kam schon mein Kit von Twinkle Beads bei mir an!
Voraussichtlich wird es die normalen Mini-Challenge-Kits für interessierte Perlerinnen und Perler dort ab Mitte März geben!
Das Thema für dieses Jahr lautet: "Sonoran Sunset"
und die Farben spiegeln den Sonnenuntergang in der besagten Sonora Wüste wieder.
Ich bin schon fleißig dabei, mir Gedanken über meine Umsetzung zu machen und ein paar erste Ideen habe ich schon - mal sehen ob ich es umsetzen kann und was sich so entwickelt. Die Zeit ist mit knapp 3 Monaten auch nicht so lang bemessen und ich bin schon ein bisschen nervös ob ich das schaffe.
Von Twinkle Beads habe ich die Genehmigung bekommen hier schon mal die Farben und Perlensorten meines Kits zu zeigen: es sind zwei Farben 8/0 und ganz viele 11/0 Rocailles dabei, dann noch Bar Beads, Ginkos, Gemduos, 4mm Glasschliffperlen, Cradle Beads (die ich bisher noch gar nicht kannte), 2 x 14mm Rivolis und 5 x 4mm Bicones.

This year I have the great honor of being chosen as a featured designer by Toho and my kit from Twinkle Beads arrived last Saturday!
The regular mini challenge kits for interested beaders will probably be available there from mid-March!
The theme for this year is: "Sonoran Sunset"
and the colors reflect a sunset in the aforementioned Sonoran desert.
I'm already busy thinking about how I'll implement my piece and I already have a few initial ideas - let's see if I can implement them and how it develops. The time isn't that long at just under 3 months and I'm a bit nervous about whether I can do it.
I've been given permission by Twinkle Beads to show the colors and types of beads in my kit here: there are two colors of 8/0 and lots of 11/0 seed beads, as well as bar beads, ginkos, gemduos, 4mm faceted glass beads, cradle beads (which I didn't know about before), 2 x 14mm rivolis and 5 x 4mm bicones.

Pria Set hämatit-bunt / hematite-colored

Ich wünsche euch allen ein frohes neues Jahr und hoffe, ihr seid gut rein gerutscht!
Starten möchte ich das neue Jahr mit einem weiteres Pria Set aus Rocailles in hämatit und schwarz und bunten Glasschliff-Rondellen.

Epoxidharz / Resin Cabochons

Nachdem ich im Internet ein paar mal auf Sachen aus Epoxidharz gestoßen war, bin ich neugierig geworden und musste das auch mal ausprobieren.
Auf YouTube gibt es unzählige Videos was man so alles damit anstellen kann und besonders inspiriert und geholfen hat mir dieser Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@daniel..cooper
Es macht richtig viel Spaß und es kommen unglaublich tolle Steine dabei heraus. Der Herz-Stein in meiner diesjährigen Toho-Challenge ist übrigens auch selbst gemacht aus Epoxidharz.

After I came across things made of resin a few times on the internet, I became curious and had to try it out.

It's really fun and the cabochons that come out are incredibly great. The heart cabochon in my Toho-Challenge from this year is also one of my resin creations.

Toho Mini Challenge 2024

Heute hat Toho endlich auch meinen Beitrag zur Mini Challenge 2024 auf Facebook gezeigt.
Dieses Jahr ist es mir irgendwie schwerer gefallen als sonst etwas aus den gegebenen Perlen zu machen. Ich habe gefühlt 100 Mal Sachen wieder aufgeschnitten oder hatte Fehler drin so dass ich es noch mal machen musste...
So ganz zufrieden bin ich auch nicht mit dem Ergebnis, aber ich denke, dass es gut zum Thema "Let the Light shine in" passt.
Nächstes Jahr klappt es bestimmt wieder besser und ich freue mich jetzt schon auf die neue Herausforderung.

Today Toho finally showed my contribution to the Mini Challenge 2024 on Facebook.

This year I found it somehow more difficult than usual to make something out of the beads I was given. I felt like I cut things open 100 times or made mistakes so I had to do it again...

I'm not entirely happy with the result, but I think it fits well with the theme "Let the Light shine in".

Next year it will definitely work out better and I'm already looking forward to the new challenge.
